Bourbon Alert: Willett Family Estate 4 Year Rye

Y'all should really get to know the wonderful world of Willett! The distillery was established in 1936 by Thompson Willett, just down the road from us in Bardstown, KY. The Kulsveen family has really brought this unique brand into the conversations of bourbon enthusiasts by working their butt's off over the last few decades to put them on the leading edge of the craft bourbon industry. If you have not tried their most famous Willet Bourbon in the Pot Still bottle, go out and buy it now. Like, right now, at Sweet Mash if you can. Actually we just sold a bottle to a Trail traveler as we were working on this post! We personally have been BIG fans of their products for years and have visited the distillery on several occasions. Their new-ish visitors center is absolutely beautiful and the renovated distillery offers a unique experience steeped in the bourbon heritage we locals know and love.

New in to Sweet Mash today is the Willett Family Estate 4 Year Rye. This rare release straight rye comes in at a warm 109.8 Proof. According to the folks at Willett the nose of this rye is heavy on the cherry with a subtle mix of cinnamon and baking spices. The robust taste includes dark cherry, vanilla and spices. That spiciness dominates the finish as any great rye should and this is a STELLAR RYE.

Don't take our word for it. Come and grab a bottle for yourself while they last, which won't be long.
